Post-delivery home care
The first time as a new parent brings many issues with it. I come to your home after an outpatient hospital birth. We weigh and bathe the child, make the navel care together, and I'll show you, if desired, baby massage or how to tie a sling. I help you with uncertainties and questions regarding breastfeeding or feeding with Formula. Also for the father, the postpartum period is a very intense time; everybody is in a new role. I would be pleased to accompany your family during this beautiful and sensitive time.
The costs of postpartum visits are covered by the basic health insurance to the 56th day of life of the child. The fund pays for the first child, multiple birth or caesarean section a maximum of 16 visits. Each additional child costs are covered for a maximum of 10 visits.
Breastfeeding advice and counselling on nutrition
As an IBCLC lactation consultant I will gladly advise you on all kinds of child feeding options, whether you breastfeed or not.
If you decide to breastfeed, you will in the coming months spend some time and energy to feed your child. I am available during this time to help you decide if breastfeeding is right for you, questions and advice, as well as check-ups. Even if only partially breastfeeding or not breastfeeding at all, you are entitled to 3 breastfeeding consultations and it is covered by the basic insurance.
Follow-up care
Six to eight weeks after the birth, you have the possibility to meet and have a post-control by a midwife. Topics are birth control, your new role as a family and mother, diet and exercise.
The costs are covered by the basic insurance.
Pelvic floor training
During the after delivery care, I demonstrate some pelvic floor exercises that will help your perineum and vagina to heal more quickly. That's because the exercises improve circulation to the area, helping to reduce swelling and bruising. If you have stitches, exercising your pelvic floor won't put any strain on them.
